Flyers can visit iFLY San Francisco Bay just west of the I-880 in Union City (north of Fremont).
This Generation 3 SkyVenture tunnel was one of the earliest recirculating wind tunnel models, along with iFLY Denver, and remains the only place to indoor skydive in the Bay Area today. The 12-foot (3.7 m) tunnel is the only Gen 3 iFLY Tunnel Systems (formerly, SkyVenture) tunnel still operating in California, and along with iFLY Hollywood (a 10-foot Gen 5 tunnel that also opened in 2007), it is the oldest iFLY California tunnel in existence.
It uses a recirculating wind tunnel model, which ensures that the flyers experience a smooth and controlled airflow that is completely unaffected by the weather conditions outside.
The facility features a 12-foot diameter wind tunnel with walls made from acrylic glass. This gives the spectators a clear view of the flyers, the instructor, and the flight chamber.
