About iFLY Portland
iFLY Portland is a 14-foot (4.3 m) recirculating, wall-to-wall wind tunnel in Portland, Oregon with a top speed of 171 mph (275 km/h). This indoor skydiving Portland location is a Generation 6 SkyVenture tunnel, and it opened in November 2015, joining iFLY Seattle as one of only two tunnels in the Northwestern United States.
iFLY Portland is both the only place to indoor skydive in Portland, Oregon and the only wind tunnel in the state of Oregon. Interestingly enough, FLY Portland and iFLY Seattle are actually the only two tunnels for hundreds of miles. South of Portland, the next closest wind tunnel is 600 miles south, at iFLY Sacramento or 700 miles southeast, at iFLY Utah. iFLY Portland is located just west of the I-5, in the community of Tigard, approximately 15 minutes south of downtown Portland.
The iFLY Portland Experience
The iFLY Portland experience lasts around an hour and 45 minutes and is a thrilling adventure from start to finish. Once you check in, you'll receive a brief training session from one of their experienced instructors on how to position your body to make the most of the wind tunnel. Afterward, it's time to gear up with a jumpsuit, helmet, and goggles, and get ready to fly.
The excitement and thrill of feeling weightless are indescribable, as the wind tunnel blows air up to keep you afloat. Beginners will be amazed by how quickly they can improve their flying skills and feel the thrill of skydiving in a safe and controlled environment.
Planning Your Visit
To get the most out of your iFLY experience, arrive 20 minutes before your session and wear well-fitting sneakers and casual clothes. Remember that the minimum age for indoor skydiving is three years old, and if you're under 18, you'll need a parent or guardian's waiver. iFLY also sets a maximum weight limit of 300 lbs to ensure guest safety.
Is Indoor Skydiving Safe?
Absolutely. All iFLY instructors are qualified to the highest standards by the International Bodyflight Association (IBA) and have undergone rigorous training to make sure they're ready to assist you during your flight. Since 1998, iFLY has built more than 100 tunnels around the world, improving their technology with every tunnel to make them as safe as possible.
How Much is iFLY Portland?
At iFLY Portland there's a package for everyone. First-time flyers can start with a Kickstarter package which includes 2 flights for as little $69.99, but can go all the way up to 5 flights for $164.99.
Each flight lasts approximately a minute. This may sound like a short amount of time but this is almost exactly the same as the time spent in freefall on a regular skydive, so 2 flights is like jumping out of a plane twice!
Group packages are available at discounted rates and there are options for private parties and corporate events.
Experienced flyers or return flyers can also get discounted rates by purchasing their tunnel time in bulk.

My son Max was terrified when he first got there. After meeting with his instructor Cole.R he was somewhat at ease. Max was exited after his first flight he says, and after the second he was looking forward to the next time that he could fly. Because of this we have purchased a return flight for our son and granddaughters. Thank you ifly & Cole for an an amazing experience! We hope to have Cole as an instructor to our next ifly experience!

This was a birthday party event. The overall party I'm giving a two at most three... Here's my break down... Overall staff is very friendly and nice....(10) Our guests at the party enjoyed their time... (7) (could of been better)
Birthday GUEST was treated as one of the PARTY guest...(2).... Oh NOOO!!!! NOT GOOD!!! Party room was stuffy and small for 18 guests...(3) Party room was personalized FOR birthday guest... (10)... Cost over all... not worth the money. I recommend researching, getting your requests in writing, BEFORE payment!!! It really is a lot of money you are spending on a party... get the details square if you are gonna use ifly Portland. I personally will never use them again. I expressed SEVERAL times to many staff that I wanted my bday child to stand out...

My family drove in from ~100 miles for our reserved flight. Some snafu caused our flights not to be recorded but the Manager (Sarah) were able to fit us in. We had 3 different instructors, all different and all excellent. We all enjoyed the experience. Thank you.

I was a first time flyer, Travis was my instructor. He was patient with all of us and I know that I felt at ease. I was nervous just before I entered into the chamber but once in, words cannot express the joy I felt as I was flying. We fly twice, once low and then at about 25 seconds before the end of the second flight we flew high.
Make sure that you add the high flight option. The experience was awesome!!!!
